This is a summary of the year 2017 in British music charts.

The UK Singles Chart and UK Albums Chart are two of many music charts compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) that calculates the best-selling singles and albums of the week in the United Kingdom. Since 2004, the charts have been based on the sales of both physical singles and albums and digital downloads. Since 2014, the singles chart has been based on both sales and streaming; in the first half of 2017, it used the ratio of 150 streams equivalent to one sale (not 100:1 as previously) and since the second half of 2017, it uses the ratio of 300 streams equivalent to one sale for songs which have been in the chart for at least 10 weeks and have declined in sales for 3 weeks. Since 2015, the albums chart has also been based on both sales and streaming.

In week ending 8 June, The Beatles returned to the top of the album charts with their album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It originally reached number one in 1967, therefore breaking a record for most weeks spent away from number one before reclaiming the top spot.
